10 days in Seychelles is the ideal length for the classic three-island circuit. It allows three bases — Mahé, Praslin and La Digue — with at least three nights on each and only two inter-island transfers. You get the capital and mountains of Mahé, the palm forest and beaches of Praslin, and the slow, car-light life of La Digue, without feeling rushed.

The plan below is three nights on Mahé, four on Praslin and three on La Digue. If your flights arrive late or leave early, take one night from Praslin and add it to Mahé at the end.

Who 10 days in Seychelles suits

  • Travellers who want to see the three main islands properly.
  • Couples and honeymooners who want a restful finish on La Digue.
  • Families who prefer longer stays and fewer moves.

Base yourself at Beau Vallon, in Victoria & Eden Island or in South Mahé.

  • Day 1: arrive, settle in and spend the late afternoon on the beach.
  • Day 2: Victoria’s market and botanical garden in the morning; a boat trip into the Ste Anne Marine Park in the afternoon.
  • Day 3: an early hike in Morne Seychellois National Park, then the south-coast beaches.

Days 4–7: Praslin

Cross to Praslin by fast ferry from Victoria or by short domestic flight. Stay at Côte d’Or & Anse Volbert for convenience, or on the west coast for a quieter stay.

  • Day 4: transfer and an afternoon at Côte d’Or.
  • Day 5: the Vallée de Mai in the morning, Anse Lazio in the afternoon.
  • Day 6: a boat day to Curieuse and St Pierre.
  • Day 7: a guided walk at Fond Ferdinand, or a slow beach day.

Take the short ferry from Baie Ste Anne to La Passe. Many guesthouses collect guests at the jetty. See La Digue Island for where to stay and how to get around.

  • Day 8: hire bicycles and explore the west coast and La Passe.
  • Day 9: Anse Source d’Argent early in the morning, then the east-coast beaches at Grand Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Cocos — swim only in calm conditions.
  • Day 10: climb to Nid d’Aigle or look for paradise flycatchers in the Veuve Reserve, then return to Mahé via Praslin for an evening or next-day flight.

If your international flight leaves early, return to Mahé on day 10 and spend the final night there.

Transfer tips for 10 days in Seychelles

  • Book the Mahé–Praslin and Praslin–La Digue legs in advance for busy periods.
  • During the south-east trades (roughly May to September), consider flying the Mahé–Praslin leg.
  • Leave a buffer before your international flight, especially when travelling from La Digue.
  • See Seychelles Island Hopping for how the connections work.

Variations

  • Reverse the order (Mahé, La Digue, Praslin) if Praslin’s airport suits your return flight to Mahé.
  • Swap a Praslin night for Mahé if you prefer hiking and more time in the capital.
  • Add a resort island by extending to 14 days.

Why 10 days in Seychelles works so well

With 10 days in Seychelles, every island gets at least three nights, the two transfer days fall naturally between stays, and there is room for weather. Boat trips and beach days depend on sea conditions, so having spare time on each island means a rough day becomes a hiking or sightseeing day rather than a missed highlight.

It is also the length at which the order of islands starts to matter. Many travellers like to finish on La Digue for its slower pace; others prefer to end on Praslin for an easier connection back to Mahé. Either works — check ferry and flight times before you decide.
