Seychelles combines granite boulders and coral reefs, and much of the best snorkelling and diving is found in or around the marine national parks. Some beaches offer good snorkelling straight from the shore; others are reached by boat with a local operator.

Seasons and conditions
The transition months between the trade-wind seasons are often the calmest, which generally helps visibility. During the trade-wind seasons, one side of each island is usually more sheltered than the other, so the best site depends on the time of year. Ask local operators where conditions are best on the day.
Snorkel with a companion, follow local advice on currents, and dive only with a qualified operator and within your certification.
Never stand on or touch coral, do not feed fish, and follow marine-park rules.
