Beau Bassin Inn is an apartment on Mahé, in the South Mahé area. Its listing shows free WiFi, free parking and facilities for disabled guests among the main facilities. It lists 2 room types.
Best for
Best suited to independent travellers and families who prefer to self-cater. It is a less natural fit for some trips: neither a pool nor beachfront access is among the listed facilities.
Location
The listing gives the address as West Coast Road, Baie Lazare Mahé. Its map pin puts it under 1 km in a straight line from Baie Lazare, about 9.5 km in a straight line from Seychelles International Airport and about 14 km from Victoria.
South Mahé, around Baie Lazare, Takamaka and Quatre Bornes, is the quietest part of the main island, with beaches such as Anse Intendance and Anse Soleil, a handful of resorts and few shops.
Rooms and style at Beau Bassin Inn
The rooms listed are One-Bedroom Apartment and Villa with Garden View. With only a few categories to choose from, it is worth asking which unit faces which way. As a self-catering place, check what the kitchen or kitchenette includes.
Facilities at Beau Bassin Inn
The listing’s main facilities are free WiFi, free parking, facilities for disabled guests and non-smoking rooms. In practice, parking is listed, which helps if you hire a car.
Trade-offs and what to know
This side of Mahé is quiet and spread out, so a hire car makes a real difference. Self-catering means shopping for groceries, which in Seychelles can be limited outside the larger villages. Sea and weather conditions vary with the south-east and north-west monsoons, so ask the property what to expect on your dates.
Getting there and getting around
International flights arrive at Seychelles International Airport on the east coast of Mahé. Buses cover most of the island, and hire cars (driving on the left) or taxis give more freedom.
