Set in Baie Lazare on Mahé, Lazare Picault Hotel is a hotel. Its listing shows beachfront, restaurant and bar among the main facilities. It lists 4 room types.
Best for
Best suited to families who need a family room and travellers who want to be close to the water. It is a less natural fit for some trips: shops and restaurants are spread out in this part of Mahé.
Location
The listing gives the address as Baie Lazare, Mahe, Baie Lazare Mahé. Its map pin puts it about 1.8 km in a straight line from Baie Lazare, about 11 km in a straight line from Seychelles International Airport and about 16 km from Victoria.
The south of Mahé is rural and relaxed, with steep green hills, small bays and long beaches such as Anse Intendance. Facilities are spread out, so most visitors here rely on a car or on their accommodation.
Rooms and style at Lazare Picault Hotel
The listing shows Superior Room, Junior Suite, Honeymoon Suite and Two-Bedroom Villa (Adults only). With only a few categories to choose from, it is worth asking which unit faces which way.
Facilities at Lazare Picault Hotel
On the listing, the headline facilities are beachfront, restaurant, bar, airport shuttle, family rooms, room service, breakfast and free WiFi. In practice, meals or drinks are available on site, an airport shuttle is listed, though it is usually arranged and charged separately and parking is listed, which helps if you hire a car.
Trade-offs and what to know
This side of Mahé is quiet and spread out, so a hire car makes a real difference. Seychelles has two broad monsoon seasons, and wind and sea conditions on any given beach change with them.
Getting there and getting around
International flights arrive at Seychelles International Airport on the east coast of Mahé. Mahé has a bus network, but a hire car or taxis are the easier way to reach beaches and viewpoints.
